HEALING HEARTS ANIMAL RESCUE GROUP

Healing Hearts Animal Rescue Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization headquartered in Catharpin, in Northern Virginia. While our passion is senior and special needs animals, we have many young, vibrant and healthy animals available for adoption.
Healing Hearts has only been in existence since October, 2011, but with the help of our wonderful volunteers we have rescued and re-homed dozens of animals in that short time.
We invite you to explore our website, whether you are looking for an animal to adopt, a volunteer opportunity, or a worthwhile organization for donations. Healing Hearts welcomes you!

Description: Comfort Cases

Our Cause:

Comfort Cases provides critical support to children in crisis, whether they are entering the foster care system, removed from a home for allegations of abuse, facing homelessness, or temporarily displaced for emergencies or other reasons. We do this by providing a backpack or duffel bag filled with new items that youth can keep and call their own. The cases have pajamas, a soft blanket, toiletries, dental hygiene kits, a book, an activity, and a stuffed animal. We seek to provide these essential personal items so that kids in need have a sense of dignity during a time of crisis. Though this is just one of many interventions needed to bring a sense of security to vulnerable youth, we believe that dignity is the first step.

Description: Habitat

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

The Habitat ReStore receives building materials, both new and gently used, that have been donated by corporations, home construction companies, and individuals. Items that are not able to be used directly by Habitat for Humanity in their home building and repair programs are sold at the ReStore to the general public at 40% to 90% off retail prices. Proceeds from the ReStore go into Habitat's building programs, helping to provide adequate housing and home repairs for local families.
